Vietnam H1 FDI inflows up 8.9% y/y to $10 billion -planning ministry

HANOI : Vietnam received $10.06 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first six months of 2022, up 8.9 per cent from a year earlier, the Ministry of Planning and Investment said on Tuesday.

FDI pledges — which indicate the size of future FDI disbursements — dropped 8.9 per cent to $14.03 billion, the ministry said in a statement.

Of the pledges, 63 per cent are due to be invested in manufacturing and processing, while 22.5 per cent targetted real estate, it said. Singapore was the top source of FDI pledges, followed by Japan and South Korea.
