ALMATY : Kazakhstan’s central bank may need to further tighten monetary policy to bring inflation back to target and anchor expectations, Nicolas Blancher, the head of an International Monetary Fund mission, said on Thursday.
Raising interest rates in the central Asian nation has proved essential to avoid a spiral of inflation, currency depreciation and dollarization, Blancher said in comments published on the IMF website.
