HONG KONG: Hong Kong’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate eased to 4.7 per cent in the April to June quarter, thanks to an easing in the COVID-19 situation, a relaxation of social distancing and support from a consumption voucher scheme, the government said on Tuesday (Jul 19).
In the March to May period, the unemployment rate stood at 5.1 per cent.
“As domestic economic activities continue to revive, the labour market is likely to improve further in the near term,” the government said, adding measures rolled out by the government would provide support for recovery of the local economy.
